Who's behind
the tracking
We're a small, focused consultancy that helps marketing agencies and businesses get their analytics right. No big-agency overhead, no juniors learning on your dime, no buzzwords hiding a lack of substance. Just deep expertise in GA4, GTM, and consent, delivered by someone who's been doing this since before GA4 existed.
From agency trenches to
independent consultancy
North Digital wasn't born in a boardroom. It grew out of a career spent inside marketing agencies, working through every layer of the digital advertising stack. Email marketing, then PPC, paid social, programmatic. Technical account manager, then ad operations manager. Years of building campaigns, managing tracking pixels, and staring at dashboards that never quite added up.
When family brought a move back to Poland, the path shifted. A stint in ecommerce data analytics confirmed what was already obvious: the work that actually held attention was web analytics. Not broad data science, not ecommerce reporting. The specific, technical craft of making GA4 and GTM do what they're supposed to do. That's where the real satisfaction was, and it's where the deepest expertise had been built, one messy implementation at a time.
Agencies don't have a dedicated analytics person on staff, and they shouldn't need one. Most manage five to fifteen clients. That's not enough volume to justify a full-time tracking specialist. So the tracking gets handed to whoever's available, usually a junior developer or a PPC manager who picked up GTM from YouTube. The result is predictable: messy data, stressed teams, clients who stop trusting the numbers. North Digital exists to be the tracking team agencies and SMEs can call when things need to be done properly, without hiring anyone full-time.
That's not just a tagline, it's how we work. Every implementation starts with a measurement plan that's tied to real business questions. We ship clean, documented, maintainable tracking that another analyst can inherit without a phone call.
We believe in data quality over data quantity. A single well-instrumented event is worth more than a hundred noisy ones. Most analytics setups we inherit have dozens of tags firing events nobody ever looks at. We strip that back. We ask: what decision does this data point support? If there isn't a clear answer, it doesn't go in. This keeps your reports clean, your costs down (fewer BigQuery bytes scanned, fewer GA4 cardinality issues), and your team focused on what actually matters.
And we believe in privacy-first measurement. GDPR, Consent Mode v2, and cookieless strategies aren't afterthoughts, they're foundations. We build every setup to work properly when consent is denied, using Consent Mode's behavioral modelling to recover visibility into marketing performance without collecting data you shouldn't have. It's not just about staying legal, it's about building trust with your users and future-proofing your analytics against the next regulatory shift.
Above all, we believe in handing over something useful. We don't lock you into a retainer you don't need. Every project comes with documentation written in plain English, a recorded walkthrough, and a measurement reference that maps every event back to a business question. If your team wants to take it from there, they can. If you'd rather we keep maintaining it, we'll do that too. The point is, it's your choice.

Deep Google ecosystem
expertise
North Digital was built on deep, hands-on experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager (both client-side and server-side containers), Data Studio, Google Ads, and Search Console, the full stack of Google's measurement and marketing ecosystem. We've been building on this stack since Universal Analytics was the standard, through the GA3-to-GA4 migration panic, and into the current where we are now with Consent Mode v2 and server-side tracking.
That experience matters because it means we've seen what breaks. We know which GA4 reports are reliable and which ones lie. We know that GTM's preview mode sometimes shows success when the tag actually fails. We know that server-side GTM cuts through adblockers but introduces its own debugging headaches. We've debugged all of it, documented it, and built processes around the real-world behaviour of these tools, not what the documentation says should happen.
But tools change. That's why we're platform-agnostic by philosophy. Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, if you have a data platform, we'll help you get the most out of it. We compete on understanding, not tools. A good measurement strategy works regardless of which platform you run it on. The fundamentals (clear business questions, consistent naming conventions, proper event taxonomy, thorough validation) are universal. We bring those fundamentals and adapt them to whatever stack you're using.
While we don't believe certifications make someone a good practitioner, we do stay current with Google's certification programmes. We maintain up-to-date GA4 and GTM certifications, follow the Chrome Privacy Sandbox developments closely, and keep a constant eye on what's changing in consent and adtech. The industry moves fast and we move with it, so you don't have to spend your time tracking regulatory updates and platform changes.
The principles that guide
every project
Running a small consultancy means every project reflects directly on you. There's no hiding behind a brand or a big team. That's a good thing. It keeps us honest and it keeps our standards high. Here's what we believe in:
No jargon, ever
If we can't explain something in plain English, we don't understand it well enough ourselves. We translate technical concepts into language your team and your clients can actually use. You won't hear us talking about "holistic omnichannel attribution frameworks." You will hear us talking about understanding which channels actually drive sales.
Documented, always
Every project ships with documentation. Not just a list of tags and triggers, but a measurement reference that explains what each event means, why it's there, and what business question it answers. If someone new joins your team in six months, they should be able to pick up the documentation and understand everything without a handover call.
Inheritable setups
We build tracking that any competent analyst can take over. Clean naming conventions, logical folder structures in GTM, commented custom HTML tags, and a data layer that follows a consistent schema. No clever tricks that only the original builder can maintain. If you ever need to move on from us, you can, and it won't hurt.
Privacy by default
We build every implementation to respect user privacy from day one. Consent Mode v2 is standard, not an upsell. We host fonts and assets locally to prevent IP leakage through third-party CDNs. We configure data retention controls properly. If a user says no to tracking, your setup should still give you useful modelled data without collecting anything you shouldn't.
How we deliver
Every project follows the same four-phase approach. It's simple, it works, and it means you always know where we are and what's coming next. No surprise invoices, no scope creep without a conversation first.
Listen first
We start by understanding your business, your data maturity, and what decisions you need analytics to support. This usually takes an hour or two on a call, plus some poking around your current setup if you have one. We'll ask about your business model, your marketing channels, what you're currently measuring (and what you wish you could measure), and what your team looks like technically. By the end of this phase, we'll both know if we're a good fit. If we're not, we'll tell you honestly and point you in the right direction.
Plan the measurement
A detailed measurement plan that maps every event, dimension, and metric back to a specific business question. We define your data layer schema, your event taxonomy, and your container architecture before any tag gets created. You'll get a written document you can review and sign off on. This is the blueprint. It takes the guesswork out of implementation and means we never find ourselves six weeks in, realising we forgot to track something important.
Build and test
Clean implementation with thorough QA. Every event gets verified in GTM preview mode, then in a staging environment, then in production. We test across browsers and devices. We test with consent granted and consent denied. We verify data shows up correctly in GA4 reports, BigQuery (if you're using it), and any downstream dashboards. We don't call something done until we've seen real data flowing for at least a few days and confirmed it matches expectations. No guesswork, no "should be fine."
Document and hand over
Full documentation, a recorded walkthrough, and proper knowledge transfer. Your team gets everything they need to maintain the system themselves. We'll walk you through the GTM container, explain how to add new events, show you where to look when something looks off, and leave you with a measurement reference you can hand to anyone who joins the team later. If you'd prefer ongoing support, we offer maintenance plans. But you're never locked in, and you'll never be stuck because we're the only ones who understand how things work.
Built for agencies
and growing businesses
We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We work best with two types of clients:
Marketing agencies
You've got five to fifteen clients who all need GA4 set up properly, consent banners that actually work, and reports they can show their stakeholders. You don't have an in-house analytics person and you don't want to hire one. That's where we fit. We become your tracking team, handling implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting so you can focus on what you do best: strategy, creative, and client relationships.
We work white-label when you need us to, or we're happy to talk directly to your clients if that's easier. Either way, we deliver clean, documented setups that make your agency look good.
SMEs and growing businesses
You're spending money on ads, content, and SEO. You need to know what's working. But GA4 feels like it was designed for enterprise data teams, not for a business with a marketing team of two. We get that. We'll strip out the complexity, set up the handful of reports that actually matter for your business, and explain everything in terms you can use to make decisions.
No six-month engagements. No minimum retainer. We scope the work, quote a fair price, and deliver. If you want us to stick around for maintenance, great. If not, you'll have everything you need to run it yourself.
